What You’ll Do
- Maintain and repair all plant and equipment at Tygerberg Hospital under the supervision of the Artisan Foreman.
- Perform necessary administrative functions related to maintenance and repairs.
- Train and supervise junior staff and assist them in their tasks.
- Assist in executing engineering projects and manage tools and materials effectively.
- Collaborate with the Artisan Foreman to support his duties and responsibilities.
What You’ll Need
- Appropriate Trade Test Certificate in mechanical or related field.
- For Grade A: No experience required; Grade B: At least 18 years of relevant experience; Grade C: Minimum 34 years of relevant experience after obtaining the Trade Test Certificate.
- Valid Code B/EB driver’s licence.
- Ability to perform standby and overtime duties as required.
- Competency in mechanical repairs, general welding, and understanding of machinery, pumps, compressors, steam systems, and sterilizing equipment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Familiarity with Occupational Health and Safety Acts and machinery requirements.
