What You’ll Do

  • Assess patients in line with Hospital Memorandum 18 and the UPFS manual.
  • Capture patient information accurately in the Clinicom System.
  • Report incidents such as Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVAs) and Workmen’s Compensation Act (WCAs) to the Batsumi Hotline.
  • Manage revenue control, including the receipt of payments and safekeeping of patients’ valuables.
  • Provide administrative support to operational managers, nurses, and doctors in the wards.
  • Assist in ordering and stocktaking, and manage stock requisitions.
  • File patient folders and clinical notes accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Handle telephonic and personal inquiries regarding patient information.
  • Relieve duties in other departments as required.

What You’ll Need

  • A Senior Certificate (or equivalent qualification).
  • Relevant experience in patient admissions and wards, particularly with the Clinicom System.
  • Preparedness to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, public holidays, and overtime on short notice.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.
  • Strong numerical skills and computer literacy.
  • A proactive approach to accountability and the ability to work independently.
