About the Role
The Department of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs is currently seeking dedicated individuals for the role of Admin Clerks at various Traditional Councils in the Maluti Region, including Matandela, Xesibe, Hala, Ncuncuzo, Qamata Basin, Amajingqi, Amarheledwane, Amatshangase, Amandengane, Malungela, and Hlubi Traditional Councils. This position is vital in promoting cooperative governance and ensuring that the councils operate smoothly while addressing community needs. Situated in the beautiful Eastern Cape, this role offers a chance to make a significant impact in the lives of local communities.
As an Admin Clerk, you will serve as a crucial link between Traditional Councils and various stakeholders, facilitating meetings and providing essential secretarial support. What You’ll Do
- Coordinate meetings between Traditional Councils and relevant stakeholders.
- Provide secretarial support during meetings of Traditional Councils.
- Facilitate cooperative governance between Traditional Councils and municipalities.
- Engage Traditional Councils in identifying community needs for integrated development planning.
- Assist in the development of local policies and by-laws.
- Manage financial records including cash management and monthly returns.
- Ensure compliance with legislation and policies related to traditional leadership.
What You’ll Need
- National Higher Certificate/Diploma (NQF Level 5) or Senior Certificate (NQF Level 4).
- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Valid Code 8 Driver’s License.
- Strong communication skills and an understanding of Traditional Leadership Institutions.
- Client orientation, report writing skills, and facilitation capabilities.
