Key Responsibilities

Bursary recipients are expected to excel in their studies and, upon graduation, contribute to Shoprite’s operations for a period equivalent to the years of funding received.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • General Requirements:
  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Aged 27 years or younger
  • Completed Matric
  • Enrolled at a recognized tertiary institution
  • Field-Specific Requirements:
  • Accounting (CA Stream):
  • Studying BCom Accounting / BAcc (CA stream)
  • Entering 2nd–4th year or PGDA/CTA
  • Minimum 65% average
  • 65% in Accounting, Auditing, and Tax
  • Biological & Agricultural Sciences:
  • Studying Agriculture-related qualifications
  • Minimum 60% average
  • Retail Business Management:
  • Studying Diploma in Retail Business Management
  • Minimum 60% average
  • Supply Chain & Logistics:
  • Studying Logistics / Supply Chain / Operational Research
  • Minimum 60% average

Benefits

The bursary covers tuition fees, prescribed textbooks, and offers an accommodation allowance, valued between R30,000 and R60,000 depending on the course and institution.
