Requirements/Qualifications
Eligible applicants must be South African citizens aged between 17 and 35 years, residing within the Nkangala District Municipality area, including local municipalities such as Dr JS Moroka, Emakhazeni, Emalahleni, Steve Tshwete, Thembisile Hani, or Victor Khanye. Candidates should come from historically disadvantaged backgrounds and either be in Matric or have completed it. Those already enrolled in university must have achieved a minimum of 60% in the 2026 academic year, while TVET college students must have a minimum of 50%.

This bursary provides financial assistance for undergraduate studies in priority fields, including Architecture, Civil Engineering, Disaster Management, Environmental Management, Finance, Information Technology Engineering, Law, Mining Engineering, Regional/Town Planning, and Social Sciences.
Financial Need Requirement
Applicants must demonstrate financial need, with the total household income not exceeding a specified threshold.
Required Application Documents
To apply, submit a completed bursary application form along with certified identification, academic records, proof of household income, and proof of residence. Matric students should include Grade 11 final results and latest Matric results, while those who have completed Matric should provide their Matric certificate. Current students must submit their latest academic record on the institution’s letterhead, proof of acceptance at a tertiary institution if available, and a motivational letter.
