Eligibility

  • Black female South African students
  • Limited to no existing funding
  • Currently in second year of study or higher

Some of the supported courses include:

  • Accounting
  • Computer Science
  • Economics
  • Engineering
  • Finance
  • Mathematics
  • Medicine

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit a letter addressed to the Trustees including:

  • Personal background and field of study
  • Career ambitions and motivation for bursary
  • Latest CV
  • Certified copy of South African ID
  • Copy of academic record (up to date and stamped)
  • Copy of graduate degree (if applicable)
  • Grade 12 academic certificate
  • Breakdown of required funds (tuition, books, accommodation, subsistence)

Application Process

  1. Screening: Telephonic screening with the Trust Administrator
  2. Meet and Greet: Personal meeting with the Trust Administrator
  3. Trustee Interview: One-on-one interview with a Trustee
  4. Finalisation: Confirmation from Trustees regarding success

Important Dates

All applications must be submitted to the Monocle Foundation Trust before November 2025. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews, and all applicants will receive feedback on their application outcome.
