Key Responsibilities

While the bursary does not require repayment, recipients are encouraged to engage in community-based projects. Students are expected to submit reports detailing their volunteering activities as part of their commitment to community service.

Requirements/Qualifications

To be eligible for the GrandWest Bursary, applicants must:

  • Be a South African citizen under the age of 27.
  • Reside within the Western Cape Province.
  • Have completed Matric in South Africa.
  • Be enrolled or registered to study full-time towards an undergraduate qualification at UCT, UWC, SU, or CPUT.
  • Be pursuing their first tertiary qualification.

Benefits

The bursary covers:

  • Registration and tuition fees.
  • A R5,000 allowance for textbooks.

Please note that accommodation, stationery, and other living expenses are not covered. The funding applies to the current academic year only, and students must reapply each year subject to satisfactory academic performance.
