About the Opportunity
The Free State Provincial Government, through the Office of the Premier, is offering bursaries to South African students residing in the Free State. This initiative aims to develop essential skills within the province by supporting students pursuing qualifications in fields identified as scarce or critical skills. The bursary is targeted at students aged 18 to 35 who are unemployed and planning to study full-time at a recognized South African university or university of technology. Preference is given to students from previously disadvantaged backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities
Recipients of the bursary are expected to pursue their studies diligently and contribute to the workforce in the Free State province upon graduation.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Must be a South African citizen residing in the Free State
- Aged between 18 and 35 years
- Currently completing Matric or have completed Matric
- Total household income of less than R600,000 per annum
- Studying or intending to study full-time towards an eligible degree or diploma
- Accepted at a recognized and accredited Higher Education Institution in South Africa
- Not receiving another form of government funding
- Unemployed and willing to work within the related service sectors
Benefits
Successful applicants may receive funding for tuition fees, textbooks, accommodation, meals, transport, and a monthly living allowance, depending on individual circumstances and bursary conditions. Additional support is provided through the Student Liaison and Support Unit and the Stakeholder Support Unit.
