About the Role
The Department of Finance is seeking a dedicated System Controller for its Financial Systems: BAS Helpdesk, based in the vibrant city of Cape Town. This important role is integral to the smooth operation of financial systems, ensuring that user account activities are maintained, monitored, and clearly documented. What You’ll Do
- Maintain and declare user account activity on the BAS system, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Monitor source systems interfacing and system response, addressing any issues promptly
- Collaborate with internal teams regarding system requirements and enhancements
- Provide comprehensive helpdesk administration, addressing user queries efficiently
- Issue written and electronic financial system procedures and policies
- Compile and manage correspondences related to the A/G COMAF
- Deliver system input for disclosures relevant to Annual Financial Statements (AFS)
- Train subordinates and BAS users to enhance system proficiency
What You’ll Need
- A minimum of a 3-year National Diploma or Degree in a relevant field
- Appropriate supervisory experience in a similar environment
- Valid Code EB driver’s licence
- Extensive knowledge of Financial Systems: BAS & LOGIS
- Strong leadership and analytical thinking skills
- Excellent planning and organisational abilities
- Competence in report writing and project management
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Aptitude for numerical work and effective meeting presentation skills
