What You’ll Do

  • Review and consolidate financial inputs for AFS/IFS compilation
  • Maintain the Head Office disclosure notes Audit File
  • Analyze and advise on changes to accounting standards and departmental policies
  • Compile and develop procedures for internal controls and financial statement requirements
  • Respond to audit inquiries and provide necessary documentation
  • Manage human resources related to financial operations

What You’ll Need

  • A three-year National Diploma or Degree in Accounting or Auditing
  • Relevant experience in an accounting environment and financial statements preparation
  • A valid code B/EB driver’s license and willingness to travel
  • Extensive knowledge of Financial Statement compilation
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and auditing standards
  • Familiarity with Modified Cash Standards (MCS) and Generally Recognised Accounting Practice (GRAP) Standards

Requirements

Minimum educational qualification: An appropriate three-year National Diploma/Degree in Accounting/Auditing.

Experience: Appropriate experience in an accounting environment and preparation of financial statements.

Inherent requirements of the job: A valid code B/EB driver’s licence and willingness to travel.

Competencies (knowledge/skills): Extensive knowledge of the compilation of Financial Statements.

Advanced computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications (Excel spreadsheets, report writing and drafting of Word documents, MS PowerPoint presentations), Analytical and presentation skills.

Working experience of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and/ or International Standards on Auditing.

Knowledge of Modified Cash Standard (MCS) and/or Generally Recognised Accounting.

Practice (GRAP) Standards.

Knowledge of BAS, LOGIS and completed SAICA articles or similar.

Job Duties

Responsible for the review and consolidation of financial inputs used in the compilation of Annual and Interim Financial Statements (AFS/IFS) of the Department of Health.

Maintain Head Office disclosure notes Audit File.

Analyse and advise on changes to the Modified Cash Standards, Accounting Manual for Departments and departmental policies and delegations relating to relevant disclosure notes linked to operations.

and verify monthly Disclosure 191 Note Reporting.

Compile and develop procedures and policies iro internal controls and AFS/IFS requirements.

Answering Audit enquiries.

Human Resource Management and Monitoring.

Salary

R413 001 per annum
