What You’ll Do

• Design and implement database architectural solutions for various projects.
• Administer enterprise database systems across production, testing, and development environments.
• Conduct routine maintenance, performance monitoring, and optimization of databases.
• Execute backups, restorations, and recovery processes in accordance with established procedures.
• Provide support during system changes, upgrades, and deployments, ensuring minimal disruption.
• Apply security measures and audit controls to protect sensitive data and personal information.
• Collaborate with developers, infrastructure teams, and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve database issues.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation related to database configurations and operational procedures.

What You’ll Need

• A Bachelor’s degree, Advanced Diploma, or BTech NQF Level 7 in Information Technology or Computer Science with a focus on Software Development.
• A minimum of three years’ experience in an IT environment, specifically in database administration.
• A valid driver’s license.
• A certification in Database Administration (such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Azure SQL) is advantageous.
• Strong technical knowledge of various database platforms and SQL scripting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with effective problem-solving abilities.
• Experience in project management and a good understanding of business process analysis.
