What You’ll Do

  • Provide secretarial support to the Component Head, ensuring efficient office operations.
  • Type and consolidate various documents, including reports and memorandums.
  • Monitor the flow of documents to and from the office, both manually and electronically.
  • Arrange and produce minutes for meetings as required.
  • Manage the Component Head’s diary, organizing appointments and hosting visitors.
  • Maintain a bring-forward system for pending matters to ensure timely follow-up.
  • Organize travel arrangements and accommodations, including subsistence advances.
  • Manage office inventory and ensure resources are available.

What You’ll Need

  • Competency in the core functions of the position is essential.
  • Proficiency in at least English and one other official language.
  • Grade 12 / Senior Certificate / NCV Level 4 or equivalent qualification (NQF level 4 recognized by SAQA).
  • Relevant courses in secretarial skills or related fields will be advantageous.
  • General computer literacy skills, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Office, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with sound planning and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to work under pressure and willingness to extend hours as needed.
