What You’ll Do

• Monitor the maintenance and repair of road surfaces, including resurfacing and culvert/bridge replacements.
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules for roads, plant, and equipment.
• Plan and prepare weekly and monthly site programs to ensure timely execution of projects.
• Manage contracted services, oversee project management, and conduct final inspections for capital projects.
• Provide technical advice regarding claims against the department and monitor contractor work quality.
• Lead and develop staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.

What You’ll Need

• Grade 12/Matric and a qualification at NQF level 6 in Civil Engineering or Construction Management recognized by SAQA.
• Six (6) years of experience in road work maintenance or construction.
• Valid driver’s license (exceptions apply for applicants with disabilities).
• Strong technical knowledge of relevant Acts, regulations, and policy analysis.
• Proven strategic capability, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, financial management, and people management skills.
• Competence in planning, organizing, and conflict management.
