What You’ll Do

• Deliver high-quality clinical services to patients and their families.
• Supervise and mentor junior medical staff to uphold care standards.
• Participate in both formal and informal teaching of undergraduate medical students.
• Successfully complete the CMSA FCOG Intermediate examination within the first 18 months.
• Pass the CMSA FCOG Part II examination before the end of the five-year contract.
• Obtain an MMed (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) degree, including a required research project, by the end of the training period.

What You’ll Need

• An appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner.
• Registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner (Independent Practice).
• A valid driver’s license and willingness to participate in after-hours emergency services.
• Proven surgical experience, including at least 250 Caesarean sections performed as the primary operator.
• Basic obstetric ultrasound certification or a letter from a specialist confirming competence.
• Clinical experience in obstetrics and gynaecology under the supervision of a registered obstetrician-gynecologist.
