What You’ll Do
- Perform and assist with treatment coordination and planning activities in Radiation Oncology.
- Conduct CT simulations and quality assurance tasks to ensure accuracy in patient care.
- Safely handle and position patients, ensuring their comfort and security during procedures.
- Collaborate with Radiation Therapists, students, and community service professionals to enhance patient throughput.
- Administer appropriate patient care and perform quality assurance on treatment floors.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and assist in training for students and staff.
- Support medical physicists in quality control for oncology equipment, and manage stock of consumables.
- Liaise effectively with healthcare professionals at all levels concerning patient treatment issues.
What You’ll Need
- An appropriate qualification allowing registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Radiation Oncology Radiographer.
- For Grade 1: No experience needed after HPCSA registration for SA-qualified candidates; one year for foreign-qualified candidates.
- For Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience after HPCSA registration for RSA-qualified candidates; 11 years for foreign-qualified candidates.
- For Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years of relevant experience after HPCSA registration for RSA-qualified candidates; 21 years for foreign-qualified candidates.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in MS Office and Aria Management System.
- Knowledge of radiotherapy protocols and standard operating procedures, with the ability to work after hours when required.
