What You’ll Do
- Support the Chief and Assistant Director with daily radiographic activities.
- Perform high-quality diagnostic imaging based on clinical requirements.
- Engage in self-development and assist in training junior staff and students.
- Ensure the optimal care and maintenance of radiographic equipment.
- Implement quality assurance and safety protocols for radiation protection.
- Provide a patient-centered radiographic imaging service, available 24/7.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient care outcomes.
What You’ll Need
- Appropriate qualification for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
- Registration with HPCSA as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
- Relevant experience:
- Grade 1: None needed for SA qualified candidates; 1 year for foreign qualified candidates.
- Grade 2: 10 years for SA qualified; 11 years for foreign qualified professionals.
- Grade 3: 20 years for SA qualified; 21 years for foreign qualified professionals.
- Strong knowledge of various radiographic techniques and radiation safety.
- Computer literacy in MS Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Requirements
Minimum educational qualification: Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Diagnostic Radiographer.Registration with a professional council: Registration with the HPCSA as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
Experience: Grade 1: None after registration with the HPCSA as a Diagnostic Radiographer in respect of RSA qualified employees.
1-year relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as a Diagnostic Radiographer in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform Community Service, as required in South Africa.
Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as a Diagnostic Radiographer in respect of SA qualified employees.
A Minimum of 11 years’ relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as a Diagnostic Radiographer in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform Community Service, as required in South Africa.
Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years’ relevant experience after registration with the as a Diagnostic Radiographer in respect of SA qualified employees.
A minimum of 21 years’ relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as a Diagnostic Radiographer respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform Community Service, as required in South Africa.
Inherent requirements of the job: Will be required to perform after-hours and night duties, including weekends and Public Holidays.
Competencies (knowledge/skills): Knowledge and experience of theatre, mobile, fluoroscopy and general radiography, computerised tomography and magnetic resonance imaging.
Appropriate experience in a busy general department with knowledge of radiation protection, quality assurance and equipment safety pertaining to radiography.
Knowledge of Patient Archiving and Communication Systems.
Computer literacy (MS Windows, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Good interpersonal skills, the ability to work under pressure and independently and in a team.
Job Duties
Provide support to the Chief and Assistant Director regarding day to day activities.Identify and perform the most appropriate diagnostic images of high quality, be responsible for self-development as well as training of staff and students.
Ensure optimal care of equipment, quality assurance and use of suitable radiation protection.
Be responsible for the provision of a patient- centred radiographic imaging service over a 24-hour period, including risk management.
