What You’ll Do

  • Facilitate the acquisition and disposal of roads maintenance machinery and equipment
  • Conduct pre-delivery inspections and evaluations of machinery
  • Manage maintenance schedules to align with manufacturer specifications
  • Liaise with service providers for machinery repairs and ensure optimal usage
  • Compile and monitor expenditure related to road maintenance assets
  • Oversee the registration and licensing of machinery and equipment
  • Conduct physical inspections and manage resources effectively
  • Provide leadership and performance management for subordinate staff

What You’ll Need

  • Grade 12 / Matric and a qualification at NQF level 6 in Mechanical Engineering
  • Appropriate Trade Test Certificate
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in road maintenance or construction at junior management level
  • Valid driver’s license (with exceptions for applicants with disabilities)
  • Strong understanding of public service regulations and financial management principles
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
