The Department of Health is seeking a dedicated Professional Nurse Grade 1 (PN-A2) with Midwifery for the Elsie Ballot Hospital in the Gert Sibande District and Rob Ferreira Hospital in the Ehlanzeni District. What You’ll Do

  • Perform clinical nursing practices adhering to the nursing standards set by the health facility.
  • Promote quality nursing care as per professional scope and standards.
  • Participate in the implementation of National Core Standards and Ideal Hospital Realisation Framework.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, supervisors, and other healthcare professionals, including report writing when necessary.
  • Collaborate as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the delivery of quality nursing care.
  • Organise and manage your workload, along with that of support personnel, to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Advocate for patients’ needs and rights, ensuring they receive appropriate treatment and care.
  • Manage resources allocated to your unit effectively.

What You’ll Need

  • Senior Certificate / Grade 12.
  • Basic qualification accredited with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) (i.e. Diploma / Degree in General Nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse.
  • Ability to function independently and effectively prioritise work tasks.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
