The Department of Health is seeking committed Porters for five positions at the Uitenhage Provincial Hospital, located in the vibrant Nelson Mandela Metro. What You’ll Do

• Wheel patients to and from wards, ensuring their comfort and safety during transport
• Transport patients to various service areas, including operating theatres and emergency units
• Collect and transport corpses to the mortuary with care and respect
• Deliver equipment, stores, and documentation to appropriate wards and departments
• Collect and deliver specimens as needed to support hospital operations
• Assist in offloading patients from ambulances and private vehicles to stretchers
• Clean stretchers and wheelchairs after use to maintain hygiene standards
• Report broken or faulty equipment to supervisors promptly
• Maintain accurate records related to the handling of corpses and equipment
• Ensure proper identification and accuracy of records in your area of responsibility

What You’ll Need

• NQF level 3 (Grade 10 certificate or equivalent)
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Willingness to work shifts and under pressure in a dynamic environment
• Sound knowledge of customer care principles
