What You’ll Do
- Wheel patients to and from wards, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Transport patients to various service areas, including operating theatres.
- Collect and transport corpses to the mortuary with dignity and respect.
- Deliver equipment, stores, and documentation to the appropriate wards and departments.
- Collect and deliver medical specimens as needed.
- Assist in offloading patients from ambulances and private vehicles onto stretchers.
- Clean stretchers and wheelchairs after each use to maintain hygiene standards.
- Report any faulty or broken equipment to your supervisor immediately.
- Maintain accurate records when receiving and releasing corpses in the mortuary.
- Ensure proper storage of corpses in the cool room and handle them with care.
What You’ll Need
- NQF Level 3 (Grade 10 certificate or equivalent).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to work shifts and under pressure.
- Sound knowledge of customer care principles.
