What You’ll Do

  • Wheel patients to and from wards and various service areas, including the operating theatre
  • Transport patients to vehicles or other transportation services
  • Collect and transport corpses to the mortuary, maintaining respectful and accurate records
  • Deliver equipment, stores, and documentation to wards and departments
  • Collect and deliver specimens as required
  • Assist with offloading patients from ambulances and private vehicles to stretchers
  • Clean and maintain stretchers and wheelchairs after each use
  • Report any faulty or broken equipment to a supervisor promptly
  • Ensure proper identification and record-keeping for corpses in the mortuary

What You’ll Need

  • NQF Level 3 (Grade 10 certificate or equivalent)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to work shifts and under pressure
  • Sound knowledge of customer care principles
