About the Opportunity

The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF), in collaboration with the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture (DSAC), invites unemployed South African youth to participate in the Presidential Employment Stimulus Programme (PESP Phase 6). This initiative focuses on digitising, preserving, and managing national archives, offering participants invaluable experience in a professional government setting.

Key Responsibilities

Participants will engage in various roles, including archivist, assistant archivist, audio-visual preservation, administration, IT, and technical support. Specific responsibilities include arranging and describing archival materials, managing reading rooms, preserving film and sound, and supporting IT systems.

– Unemployment status
– Age 35 or younger
– Relevant qualifications depending on the role
