What You’ll Do
- Provide specialist psychiatric care to inpatients and outpatients at Stikland Hospital.
- Coordinate outreach support in designated sub-structures.
- Ensure compliance with clinical and corporate governance at the hospital level.
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary clinical team to enhance service delivery.
- Supervise and train registrars and junior staff, fostering professional growth.
- Engage in academic teaching and research in collaboration with the University of Stellenbosch.
- Develop innovative ideas to improve mental health processes in conjunction with ecosystem partners.
- Maintain registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) through continuous professional development.
- Complete necessary medical documentation for legal and administrative purposes.
What You’ll Need
- A qualification allowing registration as a Medical Specialist in Psychiatry with the HPCSA.
- Registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Psychiatry.
- For Grade 2: At least 5 years of experience as a Medical Specialist post-registration.
- For Grade 3: A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience post-registration.
- Willingness to work shifts and handle patients with infectious diseases.
- Valid driver’s license (Code B/EB) and readiness to travel.
- Strong clinical, leadership, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and excellent professional conduct.
