What You’ll Do

• Provide anaesthesia services for surgical procedures with a patient-centered focus.
• Manage resources effectively to ensure a cost-effective anaesthesia service.
• Engage in financial management and adhere to HR matters.
• Create a supportive learning environment for junior staff and students.
• Conduct clinical audits and participate in research initiatives.
• Collaborate with major referral centers to enhance competencies within the District Health System.
• Participate in the after-hours call system as required.

What You’ll Need

• Appropriate qualification for registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Anaesthesia.
• Registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Anaesthesia.
• For Grade 1: No experience required post-registration.
• For Grade 2: At least 5 years’ experience as a Medical Specialist in Anaesthesiology.
• For Grade 3: A minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Medical Specialist in Anaesthesiology.
• Valid South African driver’s licence.
• Proven leadership and staff supervision abilities.
• Strong planning, organizing, and implementation skills.
• Knowledge of public health policies and effective resource management.
• Computer literacy.
