What You’ll Do
- Render efficient laundry services adhering to health and safety standards
- Collect and accurately record linen from designated depots
- Prepare and disinfect linen for washing following established procedures
- Operate various laundry machines including washers, dryers, and irons
- Inspect, mend, and maintain linen to keep it in good condition
- Iron, fold, count, and pack laundered items as required
- Deliver and collect linen from clients within the hospital
- Report any equipment malfunctions or defects to the supervisor
- Maintain laundry equipment by monitoring temperatures and performing basic upkeep
- Assist with any other laundry-related responsibilities as directed by your supervisor
What You’ll Need
- NQF Level 1 or 2 (ABET Level 2 certificate or equivalent)
- Good understanding of laundry operations
- Strong communication skills and ability to work shifts, including night shifts
- Physical strength and stamina to handle the demands of the role
- Ability to work well in teams and independently
- Honesty and reliability in all tasks performed
