What You’ll Do

  • Maintain high levels of hygiene in and around SAPS premises, including routine cleaning tasks.
  • Perform garden maintenance and landscaping to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the academy grounds.
  • Remove refuse bags and ensure waste is disposed of properly.
  • Load and unload goods as required for various operations.
  • Wash and clean equipment, including state vehicles.
  • Operate basic machinery and tools related to gardening tasks.
  • Collaborate with other officials in a professional manner to maintain a cohesive work environment.
  • Be willing to work extended hours when necessary to meet operational needs.

What You’ll Need

  • Competency in the core functions of the Groundsman role.
  • Proficiency in English and at least one other official language.
  • Citizenship of the Republic of South Africa, with proof required during the interview.
  • ABET Level 4/Grade 9/Standard 7 certificate or equivalent qualifications.
  • Basic literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.
  • Understanding of how to handle cleaning detergents and awareness of Occupational Health and Safety protocols.
  • Ability to read, write, and interact professionally with colleagues.
  • Willingness to operate elementary machines and equipment such as lawn mowers and tractors.
