What You’ll Do

• Prepare ingredients for meals, including cleaning and cutting vegetables and preparing meats.
• Cook and process ingredients according to dietary plans and menus.
• Serve food in appropriate crockery, ensuring adherence to dietary allowances.
• Pack and deliver food trolleys to designated areas within the hospital.
• Maintain a clean and hygienic food service environment, including washing used cutlery and crockery.
• Perform quality checks to ensure that hygiene standards are met and report any issues to supervisors.

What You’ll Need

• NQF Level 1 or 2 (or ABET Level 2 certificate or equivalent).
• Basic knowledge of food services and food preparation techniques.
• Understanding of health and safety measures related to food handling.
• Basic literacy skills and the ability to operate food processing equipment.
• Capacity to measure ingredients accurately and follow instructions.
