What You’ll Do
- Render catering services by preparing ingredients and following menus.
- Process and cook prepared ingredients for patient meals.
- Serve food in appropriate crockery and ensure portion sizes meet dietary allowances.
- Pack and deliver food trolleys to various areas within the hospital.
- Maintain a safe and hygienic environment by collecting used cutlery and crockery.
- Wash and dry kitchen equipment and ensure cleanliness in food processing areas.
- Conduct regular checks to uphold safety and sanitation standards and report any issues to supervisors.
What You’ll Need
- NQF level 1 or 2 (ABET level 2 certificate or equivalent).
- Knowledge of food services and basic health and safety measures.
- Ability to operate food processing equipment and measure ingredients accurately.
- Basic literacy skills to follow instructions and menus effectively.
- A commitment to maintaining hygiene and sanitation standards in food preparation.
