About the Opportunity

Joburg City Theatres (JCT) is inviting enthusiastic graduates and students from Johannesburg communities to join their 2026 Internship Programme. This initiative aims to equip young South Africans with the practical experience needed to complete their qualifications or acquire post-study experiential training. Successful candidates will be stationed at the iconic Soweto Theatre in Jabulani for up to 24 months.

Key Responsibilities

– Marketing and Public Relations Intern: Engage in social media planning, content creation, press release drafting, and support promotional campaigns.
– Building and Security Intern: Assist with maintenance operations, building inspections, safety compliance, and facilities management.

Requirements/Qualifications

– Marketing and Public Relations Intern: Grade 12/Matric, National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or Media Studies.
– Building and Security Intern: Grade 12/Matric, National Diploma or Degree in Engineering Studies or related fields.

General Eligibility Requirements

– South African citizenship
– Age between 18 and 35
– Residency within Johannesburg communities
– No prior participation in a related internship programme

Benefits

Interns will receive a monthly stipend of R6,094, providing basic financial support during the programme.
