The Department of Economic Development and Tourism is seeking a dedicated PROFESSIONAL to fill the role of DIRECTOR: REGIONAL AND LOCAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT in Pretoria. What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with municipalities through integrated development plans to implement enterprise development programs.
- Provide technical support to provinces and municipalities during the execution of economic strategies.
- Coordinate the implementation of Small Business Portfolio programs within assigned districts and municipalities.
- Manage access to business support (financial and non-financial) for MSMEs and cooperatives, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders.
- Oversee the efficient utilization of the financial, human, and physical resources of the Directorate in accordance with relevant legislation.
- Communicate effectively through various channels, including verbal, written, and formal presentations, to deliver relevant information to diverse audiences.
What You’ll Need
- A Senior Certificate and an undergraduate qualification (NQF level 7) in Economics, Finance, Development Studies, or a related field as recognized by SAQA.
- A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience at a middle/senior managerial level in Regional and Local Economic Development or Enterprise Development.
- A compulsory pre-entry certificate into the Senior Management Service from the National School of Government.
- Competencies in Strategic Capability & Leadership, Financial Management, Problem Solving and Analysis, People Management, Client Orientation, and Communication skills.
