What You’ll Do
- Manage the entire budgeting process, ensuring alignment with departmental strategic objectives.
- Compile Interim Financial Statements (IFS) and Annual Financial Statements (AFS) in accordance with regulations.
- Develop and implement financial accounting measures to enhance reporting.
- Oversee revenue and expenditure management, ensuring accurate financial administration.
- Ensure 100% reconciliation of the general ledger and manage payment and receipt sections effectively.
- Coordinate budget hearings and engage with Provincial Treasury and oversight bodies.
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports timely.
- Manage human and financial resources, ensuring optimal team performance through mentorship and coaching.
What You’ll Need
- A Matric certificate and an undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 7) in Financial Management, Financial Accounting, or Cost & Management Accounting as recognized by SAQA.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a middle or senior managerial role within financial management.
- A valid driver’s license (with exceptions for individuals with disabilities).
- SMS Pre-Entry (Nyukela) Certificate prior to appointment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the PFMA and related government financial management frameworks.
- Proven strategic leadership skills and experience in financial reporting.
- Proficiency in public service financial management systems, including BAS, PERSAL, and Vulindlela.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong focus on client orientation.
