What You’ll Do

  • Lead and govern the development of the construction procurement strategy and Infrastructure Programme Management Plan (IPMP).
  • Ensure alignment of IPMP and procurement strategies with the Department of Health’s priorities.
  • Oversee integration of technical standards and lifecycle planning into health infrastructure projects.
  • Drive innovation in sustainable infrastructure solutions.
  • Advise executive management on infrastructure planning strategies.
  • Manage the implementation and delivery oversight of health infrastructure programmes.
  • Ensure compliance with national and municipal regulations in infrastructure designs.
  • Facilitate high-level stakeholder coordination to resolve challenges in project delivery.
  • Oversee budgeting and financial management to align resources with strategic priorities.
  • Manage team performance and provide staff development opportunities.

What You’ll Need

  • A National Senior Certificate and a Bachelor’s Degree (NQF level 7) in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or Architecture.
  • At least 5 years of experience at a middle or senior managerial level in construction (building structures).
  • A pre-entry certificate for the Senior Management Service (Nyukela) is compulsory.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • In-depth knowledge of the legislative framework governing the Public Service and the Infrastructure Delivery Management System (IDMS).
  • Strong skills in project lifecycle costing, asset management, and government regulations related to infrastructure.
  • Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and strategic management capabilities.
