The Department of Finance is seeking a dedicated individual for the position of Director: Financial Accounting, based at the Head Office in Mahikeng. Your expertise will help the department meet its reporting requirements under the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), ensuring accountability and compliance. What You’ll Do

  • Manage the administration of creditor payments and employee salaries.
  • Oversee the collection of revenue and bookkeeping services.
  • Ensure compliance with PFMA and Treasury Regulations.
  • Develop and maintain internal financial control systems to mitigate risks.
  • Manage departmental cash flow and financial reporting.
  • Supervise the budget of the Directorate and compile Interim and Annual Financial Statements.
  • Lead the management of human, assets, and financial resources within the Directorate.

What You’ll Need

  • National Senior Certificate and a Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Financial Management or Financial Accounting.
  • A postgraduate qualification in finance will be advantageous.
  • At least 5 years of experience at a middle or senior managerial level.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of PFMA, Treasury Regulations, and government procurement processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with conflict management abilities.
  • Proficiency in advanced computer skills, strategic management, and leadership.
