What You’ll Do
- Monitor and coordinate the alignment of statistical standards with national priorities.
- Oversee the development, review, and updating of statistical standards and classifications.
- Manage the creation and maintenance of policies, technical documentation, and guidelines related to statistical standards.
- Conduct environmental scanning to inform the development of standards at various levels.
- Develop frameworks to enhance statistical processes and standards.
- Supervise and manage staff and resources effectively to achieve departmental goals.
What You’ll Need
- A Bachelor’s degree/NQF 7 in Statistics, Demography, Data Science, Economics, or Econometrics.
- 3-4 years of experience at the Assistant Director level in a statistical or related field.
- Knowledge of official statistics principles, legislation, and statistical standards.
- Strong project management, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and report writing abilities.
- High computer literacy and familiarity with quality management systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively and manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
