What You’ll Do

• Monitor and coordinate the alignment of statistical standards with national priorities.
• Oversee the development, review, and updating of statistical standards and classifications.
• Manage the creation and maintenance of policies, technical documentation, and guidelines related to statistical standards.
• Conduct environmental scanning to inform the development of standards at various levels.
• Develop frameworks to enhance statistical processes and standards.
• Supervise and manage staff and resources effectively to achieve departmental goals.

What You’ll Need

• A Bachelor’s degree/NQF 7 in Statistics, Demography, Data Science, Economics, or Econometrics.
• 3-4 years of experience at the Assistant Director level in a statistical or related field.
• Knowledge of official statistics principles, legislation, and statistical standards.
• Strong project management, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and report writing abilities.
• High computer literacy and familiarity with quality management systems.
• Ability to work collaboratively and manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
