The Department of Public Works and Infrastructure is seeking a skilled Deputy Director: Recruitment & Selection based in Bisho, Eastern Cape. What You’ll Do
- Manage the implementation of recruitment, selection, and appointment processes.
- Develop and execute the Annual Recruitment Plan to meet departmental needs.
- Oversee the management of employee transfers, translations, and secondments.
- Monitor and report on acting appointments and employee transfers from other departments.
- Develop and review recruitment policies, strategies, and procedures.
- Conduct awareness campaigns on recruitment policies and strategies.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of retention strategies and work plans within the department.
- Ensure the timely management of pay progression and grade progression payments.
- Lead and develop your team, delegating tasks based on individual strengths and providing necessary support.
- Maintain high standards of work quality and timelines within your area of responsibility.
What You’ll Need
- National Senior Certificate and a B Degree (NQF Level 7) in Human Resource Management, Public Administration, or Industrial Psychology.
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience in Human Resource Management at an Assistant Director level.
- A valid driver’s license and an Introduction to PERSAL Certificate are mandatory.
- In-depth knowledge of the legislative framework governing public services and recruitment processes.
- Strong skills in strategic thinking, budgeting, project management, and team leadership.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with the ability to manage interpersonal conflicts effectively.
