What You’ll Do

  • Manage the department’s infrastructure portfolio, ensuring effective oversight and strategic direction.
  • Develop and implement infrastructure management policies, procedures, and systems that align with departmental goals.
  • Collaborate with core programmes to create a comprehensive Departmental Infrastructure Plan.
  • Monitor and report on progress regarding projects executed by Implementing Agents, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Undertake infrastructure risk management, including planning, estimating, budgeting, and prioritisation of projects.
  • Supervise personnel, fostering a productive and collaborative work environment.
  • Conduct programme reviews to assess performance and ensure continuous improvement in service delivery.

What You’ll Need

  • A Grade 12 Certificate and a Degree/Advanced Diploma/B-Tech at NQF Level 7 in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Quantity Surveying.
  • Registration with a relevant statutory council, such as the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience, with at least three years in a management environment focused on project management and financial management.
  • Strong understanding of PFMA, GIAMA, DORA, Treasury Regulations, and Public Service Regulations.
  • Proven ability to plan, manage, monitor, and evaluate activities to achieve desired project outcomes.
  • Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and computer literacy.
  • Attributes such as reliability, integrity, creativity, and assertiveness are essential for success in this role.
