What You’ll Do

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of the National Water Resource Strategy.
  • Monitor the implementation of catchment management strategies.
  • Lead the strategic direction in providing water resource information.
  • Establish and maintain systems for monitoring surface and groundwater.
  • Drive the development and implementation of measures for water resource protection and conservation.
  • Provide leadership in source-directed research initiatives.
  • Support entities responsible for water resource management.
  • Develop policies and strategies to achieve strategic deliverables within the branch.

What You’ll Need

  • A postgraduate qualification (NQF level 8) in Water Resource Management.
  • At least eight years of experience in a senior managerial role.
  • A Nyukela Public Service SMS Pre-entry certificate (to be submitted prior to appointment).
  • Strong knowledge of Public Service Regulations and the National Water Act.
  • Understanding of project management and corporate governance.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in people management and client orientation.
