About the Opportunity
The Council for Geoscience is inviting applications from South African graduates for a 24-month Human Resources Internship. Situated at the Pretoria Head Office, this role offers a monthly stipend of R13,000 and reports directly to the Manager of Human Resources. This internship is designed to provide comprehensive exposure to various HR functions, including administration, recruitment, employee relations, and training & development.

Key Responsibilities
– Recruitment Support: Screen applications, schedule interviews, prepare recruitment packs, assist with onboarding, and conduct pre-employment screenings.
– HR Administration: Support payroll processes, maintain HR records, file documentation, and organize HR events.
– Learning & Development: Assist with training programs and support employee development initiatives.
– Employee Relations: Address HR-related employee matters and support workplace engagement.
– Project Support: Contribute to HR projects, including wellness and performance management programs.
– Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with HR policies and standards, following ISO and best practice guidelines.
Requirements/Qualifications
– Education: Grade 12 (Matric) and a National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Human Resources Management, Human Resources Development, or a related field.
– Experience: No prior work experience required.
– Knowledge: Basic understanding of the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Labour Relations Act, Employment Equity Act, and Skills Development Act.
– Skills: Strong organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines, good communication skills, analytical thinking, attention to detail, computer literacy (MS Office), and good interpersonal skills.
