What You’ll Do
- Provide technological advisory services to the Area Office and Cluster
- Develop, maintain, and manage current technologies related to water management
- Evaluate and monitor existing technical manuals, standard drawings, and procedures
- Ensure quality assurance of technical solutions using engineering principles
- Identify and optimize technological designs for better performance
- Manage administrative functions and supervise related personnel and assets
- Contribute to the budgeting process and manage financial aspects of projects
- Develop and maintain databases relevant to engineering projects
- Conduct research and development to drive innovation in water management
- Prepare technical reports and offer consulting to internal and external stakeholders
What You’ll Need
- A Bachelor of Technology in Engineering (B-Tech) or a relevant qualification
- Six years of post-qualification Engineering Technologist experience
- Compulsory registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineering Technologist
- A valid, unexpired driver’s license
- Strong understanding of project and programme management
- Knowledge of technical design, analysis, and legal compliance in a technical environment
- Proficiency in computer-aided engineering applications
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with the public and colleagues
- Ability to prepare comprehensive technical reports
- Skills in financial management and budget oversight
- Familiarity with the Occupational Health and Safety Act of 1993 and the PFMA
