What You’ll Do

• Provide technological advisory services to the Area Office and Cluster
• Develop, maintain, and manage current technologies related to water management
• Evaluate and monitor existing technical manuals, standard drawings, and procedures
• Ensure quality assurance of technical solutions using engineering principles
• Identify and optimize technological designs for better performance
• Manage administrative functions and supervise related personnel and assets
• Contribute to the budgeting process and manage financial aspects of projects
• Develop and maintain databases relevant to engineering projects
• Conduct research and development to drive innovation in water management
• Prepare technical reports and offer consulting to internal and external stakeholders

What You’ll Need

• A Bachelor of Technology in Engineering (B-Tech) or a relevant qualification
• Six years of post-qualification Engineering Technologist experience
• Compulsory registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineering Technologist
• A valid, unexpired driver’s license
• Strong understanding of project and programme management
• Knowledge of technical design, analysis, and legal compliance in a technical environment
• Proficiency in computer-aided engineering applications
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with the public and colleagues
• Ability to prepare comprehensive technical reports
• Skills in financial management and budget oversight
• Familiarity with the Occupational Health and Safety Act of 1993 and the PFMA
