What You’ll Do

  • Manage and oversee civil engineering processes related to government water schemes.

  • Assess the condition of existing infrastructure to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Draft project specifications and facilitate contract management for civil engineering projects.
  • Provide technical advice and support for the sustainable operation of water user associations.
  • Engage in research and development initiatives to enhance water infrastructure management.

What You’ll Need

  • National Diploma in Civil Engineering.
  • Six years of post-qualification technical experience in civil engineering.
  • Compulsory registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineering Technician.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Proven experience in project and programme management.
  • Strong technical design and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of computer-aided engineering applications and legal compliance.
  • Excellent report writing, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Skills in people management and budget management.
  • Familiarity with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Public Finance Management Act.
