What You’ll Do

  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments for inpatients and outpatients.
  • Provide psychological treatment and support for a range of psychiatric conditions.
  • Formulate and document treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Engage in outreach programs to district and community health clinics.
  • Participate in ward work across various psychiatric diagnoses and medical wards.
  • Conduct psychometric assessments, including neuro-psychological and personality evaluations.
  • Manage clinical administrative tasks related to patient care.
  • Contribute to the academic training program of the Clinical Psychology departments.

What You’ll Need

  • An Honours degree in Psychology.
  • Successful completion of the theoretical part of the Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology.
  • Registration with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Clinical Psychology Intern by 1 January 2027.
  • Achievement of training standards set by the HPCSA and SA Professional Board of Psychology.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and maintain professionalism.
  • Basic computer literacy.
