What You’ll Do
- Implement and monitor maternal and child health policies and guidelines across clinics and hospitals.
- Conduct clinical audits to ensure adherence to the “Ideal Clinic” and “Ideal Hospital” frameworks.
- Analyse program indicators, such as maternal mortality rates and immunization coverage, to develop Quality Improvement Plans (QIPs).
- Facilitate training and clinical accompaniment for junior staff and nursing students.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to promote effective healthcare practices and ensure optimal service delivery.
What You’ll Need
- A Senior Certificate / Grade 12 along with a Basic R425 qualification (Diploma/Degree in Nursing) or an equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
- A minimum of seven years’ relevant experience in nursing after registration with SANC in General Nursing.
- Specialized experience in Maternal and Child Health services, ideally with 3 to 5 years in this field.
- Strong team collaboration skills and the ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for data analysis and reporting.
- A valid driver’s licence is essential.

Requirements

Specialized experience: for the MCWYH stream, departments often prioritize candidates who have at least 3 to 5 years of experience specifically within Maternal and Child Health services (e.

, Antenatal Care, PMTCT, and Integrated Management of Childhood Illness).
Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is essential for data analysis and report writing as an added advantage.
Valid driver’s licence.
