What You’ll Do

  • Develop, implement, and maintain financial information systems to meet evolving needs.
  • Provide technical advice to the Accounting Officer and Senior Managers regarding resource allocation and management.
  • Oversee the budgetary process, ensuring effective budgetary control and early warning arrangements.
  • Prepare and submit Annual Financial Statements in compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Manage financial, accounting, and supply chain management systems to ensure good governance and value for money.
  • Lead the development of financial strategies that align with the Annual Performance Plan.
  • Foster a strong financial delivery team, enhancing operational efficiency across the department.

What You’ll Need

  • An undergraduate degree in Accounting, Public Finance, or Economics, complemented by a Post Graduate/Honors qualification.
  • A minimum of eight years’ experience in a senior managerial role within a Financial Management environment, including three years at a Chief Director equivalent level.
  • Experience in a Public Sector environment is essential.
  • A valid unendorsed Code B driver’s license (Code 8).
  • Strong technical knowledge of GRAP and GAAP.
  • Exceptional leadership skills and the ability to provide sound financial advice.
  • Excellent verbal communication and report writing skills.
