What You’ll Do

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Financial Management Unit.
  • Develop and implement the Strategic Plan and Annual Performance Plan.
  • Oversee departmental budgeting processes in compliance with the PFMA.
  • Manage financial accounting services, including salaries and payments.
  • Ensure effective supply chain management and transport services.
  • Implement mechanisms to prevent unauthorized and irregular expenditures.
  • Coordinate audits and develop action plans post-audit.
  • Prepare detailed reports for oversight and stakeholders.
  • Support the Accounting Officer in line with CFO responsibilities.

What You’ll Need

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Degree, Advanced Diploma, or B-Tech at NQF Level 7 in Financial or Accounting Management.
  • Minimum of five years relevant experience at a Senior Management level.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Completion of SMS pre-entry program and acquisition of a Nyukela Certificate prior to appointment.
  • Advanced communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant government financial legislation and policies.
