What You’ll Do
- Oversee the management of financial operations within the department.
- Ensure compliance with financial accounting and reporting standards.
- Compile and prepare the departmental annual and adjustment budgets.
- Manage budget control and expenditure to ensure fiscal responsibility.
- Maintain accurate records of the department’s financial affairs.
- Prepare and submit departmental financial reports to the Provincial Legislature and Treasury.
- Evaluate and manage the performance of the Chief Directorate against established objectives.
- Lead and mentor a team of financial professionals, fostering a high-performance work environment.
What You’ll Need
- Matric and an undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 7) in Accounting, Financial Management, Cost and Management Accounting, or Auditing.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in a senior managerial role within financial management.
- Valid driver’s license (exempt for persons with disabilities).
- SMS Pre-Entry (Nyukela) Certificate prior to appointment.
- Strong knowledge of financial management practices and related legislation.
- Proven ability to implement strategic plans and manage budget processes effectively.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with a focus on team development.
