What You’ll Do

• Manage mechanical services and support activities in the field, workshop, and technical office.
• Ensure all machinery is maintained according to manufacturers’ specifications.
• Oversee planned maintenance schedules utilized by the mechanical team.
• Accept appointment as GMR 2(7) for mechanical equipment.
• Promote compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations.
• Provide inputs into technical problems, manuals, and procedures to incorporate new technology.
• Compile and submit necessary reports, ensuring quality assurance in line with specifications.
• Control and monitor expenditure according to the budget for efficient cash flow management.
• Lead the development and motivation of the mechanical team, ensuring a knowledgeable workforce.
• Liaise with relevant bodies on technical and engineering-related matters.

What You’ll Need

• An appropriate Mechanical Trade Test Certificate.
• Ten (10) years of post-qualification experience as Artisan/Artisan Foreman (Mechanical).
• A valid, unexpired driver’s license.
• Practical experience on Pumpstations or Government Water Schemes is advantageous.
• Strong project management skills.
• Excellent writing and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting manufacturing drawings.
• Computer literacy, particularly in MS Office applications.
• Proven leadership qualities and experience in human resources management.
• Knowledge of procurement policies and procedures in the public sector is a plus.
• Understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Willingness to travel to remote areas and work overnight as necessary.
