Overview:
A national integrated security services provider is looking for a sales-oriented Business Development Officer to join its MSHEQ (health and safety consulting) Cape Town team.

Requirements:
– Matric
– SAMTRAC
– 3 years’ health and safety consulting experience
– Reliable car and valid driver’s licence; willing to travel
– Proficient in at least 2 national languages, one of which must be English
– Computer literate
– Minimum 3-5 years’ sales experience and 2 years’ health and safety industry experience

Key Responsibilities:
Sourcing New Business:
– Travel and identify areas with potential business opportunities (canvass)
– Research potential clients
– Set up meetings to introduce MSHEQ to potential clients
– Prepare MSHEQ marketing material for meetings
– Ensure quoted clients are invoiced
– Ensure timely, accurate commission sheet submission
– In-person client relationship building
– Update sales modules on CRM
– Execute customer entertainment within budget
– Identify advertising/marketing opportunities within budget
– Ensure timely client payments and attend weekly age meetings

Sales Administration:
– Respond to all emails/quotes within 24 hours
– Consulting/retainer quotes accompanied by a proposal approved by Head of Sales
– Follow up quotes weekly
– Update and submit quotes file daily/weekly
– Quotes accompanied by terms and conditions
– Consulting invoices accompanied by a legally approved SLA
– Email marketing material with initial point of contact
– Obtain 4 client reviews monthly
– Submit petrol recons within 7 working days of the Finance statement

Sales/Operations Handover:
– Work closely with other departments when selling training or consulting
– Add consulting work to the consulting board once invoiced
– Introduce Head of Consulting/Training to clients
– Capture training on the training calendar with booking form uploaded timeously
– Set up handover meetings with Head of Consulting for new retainer clients

External Sales:
– Hunt for new business and meet weekly KPI targets
