About the Role
The Department of Water and Sanitation is looking for dedicated individuals to fill the role of Assistant Technical Officer at the Vanderkloof Dam. What You’ll Do
- Maintain and monitor measuring equipment essential for water quality assessment.
- Collect water samples following set standards and accurately register them in the relevant database.
- Capture and manage hydrological data, contributing to critical water resource management decisions.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards, promoting occupational health and safety.
- Work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders to enhance water management practices.
What You’ll Need
- A Senior/Grade 12 Certificate with Mathematics or Mathematics Literacy.
- One (1) to two (2) years of experience in Dam Safety is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel to manage data effectively.
- A valid, unexpired driver’s license.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Availability to work overtime when necessary.
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS) is an added advantage.
