The Department of Public Service and Administration is seeking an Assistant Director: Public Entities based in Johannesburg. In this vital role, you will be at the forefront of facilitating the creation and monitoring of governance frameworks for public entities within the Gauteng Provincial Government (GPG). In your daily work, you will support GPG entities in compliance management, guiding them through the complexities of governance. Your expertise will be instrumental in reviewing and finalizing Compliance Risk Management Plans (CRMP) and coordinating compliance requests, all of which are crucial in promoting good governance practices in our province. What You’ll Do
- Facilitate the establishment of new public entities and trading entities.
- Monitor compliance with governance standards and report findings.
- Support entities in developing and implementing Compliance Risk Management Plans.
- Provide oversight on governance frameworks for public entities within the provincial sphere.
- Assist in tracking and monitoring the implementation of compliance action plans and audit recommendations.
- Conduct training sessions for GPG entities on compliance-related topics.
- Engage with stakeholders to provide advisory support and capacity-building initiatives.
- Manage the operations of the compliance unit, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to departmental objectives.
What You’ll Need
- A three-year tertiary qualification (NQF level 7) in Auditing, Accounting, Compliance, or Risk Management.
- A Postgraduate Diploma in Compliance is an added advantage.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in the public sector, particularly in Auditing or Compliance Management.
- Strong understanding of the Public Finance Management Act, Treasury Regulations, and Public Service Act.
- Proven ability to apply governance frameworks and interpret legislation effectively.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
