About the Role
The Department of the Premier is seeking an Assistant Director for the Performance Consulting Unit, based in Cape Town, Western Cape. What You’ll Do
- Facilitate and administer performance management and probation processes within departments.
- Provide training and support for Senior Management Service (SMS) members and employees regarding performance management systems.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure alignment and compliance with performance management policies.
- Prepare, review, and manage documentation for performance evaluations and governance meetings.
- Oversee incapacity processes related to poor performance, ensuring adherence to policies and best practices.
- Compile regular progress reports to track performance management events and activities.
- Manage and supervise staff within the Performance Consulting Unit, ensuring operational effectiveness.
What You’ll Need
- A qualification at NQF level 6 as recognized by SAQA (National Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management or Industrial Psychology).
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Human Resource Management environment.
- In-depth knowledge of legislation, regulatory frameworks, and best practices related to performance management.
- Familiarity with project management and operational management practices.
- Strong understanding of public service procedures, processes, and systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with various stakeholders.
