The Department of Defence is seeking a dedicated Assistant Director: Library to join the CMIS Division in Pretoria. What You’ll Do
- Oversee the management and operational functions of the DOD Library service programme.
- Develop and implement comprehensive library policies and procedures.
- Create marketing strategies to promote library services to clients, especially during key events.
- Coordinate a resource sharing system among DOD libraries to enhance accessibility.
- Provide functional support and guidance to DOD libraries on service-related issues.
- Design and facilitate training programs for library personnel to improve service delivery.
What You’ll Need
- A minimum of Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent.
- A Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Information Science or Information Management Science.
- At least three (3) years of experience in a Library, Registry, Archive, or Information Management environment.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Promotion of Access to Information Act and the Public Finance Management Act.
- Fair understanding of record office procedures and archive management.
